A message to all Gamlingay residents and anyone who visits our Community Centre :- At the AGM in March, I was pleased to be re-elected as chairman of the management committee and felt it was time to up-date the villagers on recent developments at your centre. Gamlingay Players, with their influx of new members and talent, have been very busy redecorating the main hall, bar area and foyer. It now looks wonderful. It is good to see them flourishing, and we thank them all for their hard work. Their stage has become a semi-permanent fixture and will become an added bonus for hirers of the centre, especially for those using a band or disco. Major refurbishment of the toilet facilities are being planned to include a disabled toilet, and new flooring in the corridor and changing rooms. I am sure that the community centre will continue to be a very valuable asset to the whole village, and I would encourage you to come and see the improvements for yourselves. On a less positive note, we have been suffering from a bout of vandalism recently, with broken windows and graffiti, which has cost us a great deal of money. It has been suggested that we offer a £1000 reward to those who can provide evidence that would enable us to successfully pursue the culprits families in court for the recovery of these expenses. Remember this centre belongs to you all. If you need a venue for any event please contact the booking officer Ann Bradshawe on 650429 who will be happy to show you the facilities and take your bookings. The committee for the current year is Chairman Ted Bradshawe, Vice Chair. Fran Sharp, Honorary Secretary Jack Arnold, Treasurer John Barker, Booking Officer Ann Bradshawe. Meetings are held generally on the 1st Monday of each month at 8pm at the Centre. Everyone is welcome and your involvement will be greatly appreciated. See also Community Centre
