So

many times I have found just what I wanted there after searching in vain in the city shops.

FowlersAlready after only a few weeks I miss the friendly greeting from Neil or Janet or their staff, the careful consideration of any request to change my daily newspaper, which arrived before breakfast, the Cambridge Evening News arriving at exactly ten past three every afternoon, and all the other things which made the shop and its staff such a valuable part of the Gamlingay scene. The closing of village shops may be becoming commonplace but this particular emporium played a very special part in so many lives for very many years and I am sure will never be replaced.
