he children at Sunshine Pre-school have been busy this term with a visit to the First School to see the one day old chicks. This coincided well with the spring term topic on life cycles. We have been looking at the life cycles of butterflies, frogs and chickens so it was a lovely experience for the children to be able to see the newly hatched baby chickens.
A few days later the children and their parents had another opportunity to visit the First School, this time for a flying display by the owls and birds of prey from the Raptor Centre at St Ives, unfortunately due to the bad weather conditions, (snow and hailstones), the display had to be moved inside the school hall which meant some of the birds could not take part. We are hoping to arrange a visit from the Raptor Centre to the Pre-school later in the summer term.
A planned sponsored tricycle ride will be taking place during May, where all children will have the chance to help raise money for the Pre-school. So far this year we have held several successful fund raising events including the Family Photograph Day and the Nearly New Sale, a big thank you to all those who helped make these events possible.
Sunshine Pre-School now has its own website thanks to the hard work and dedication of our Secretary, Sharon Turner who has spent many hours designing it. You can find us on www.sunshine-gamlingay.ik.org.
