Advice and support
for several weeks, to me it means that I have somewhere to go on a Monday night and there are fun thing for us to do, it keeps us off the streets and out of trouble. We've bought equipment - mini basketball, mini pool table, C.D player, Playstation 2 and a Karaoke Machine in just a few weeks. Anything up to twenty of us meet in the Baptist church. Every week we do fun things, so far we have done Drugs and alcohol awareness, anti-bullying, dancemats, karaoke night, bowling trip, Playstation, quizzes, cooking - we've made cookies and pancakes and done some stuff on healthy eating and keeping fit. At the moment we are trying to put together a youth council to represent us at the Parish Council meetings. This way the voices of the young will be able to represent the needs of young people in the village. All the members are included in decision making, so we feel that we are important. In the long term we are looking to go to Holland on a trip organised by the South Cambs youth service. We are going to hold fundraising events to make sure that as many of us can go as possible. If there is any body in any of the local areas who could offer to come to youth club one Monday and offer some advice on hair, beauty, nails, looking after our bikes, keeping a pet, healthcare etc, we would welcome you with open arms. If you feel you can spare an evening ring Pat Piggott on 01763 246136 or Hayley Grist on 01767 650216. P> This is Chloe Marshall (the fit one), the next Max Clifford-ess signing off

Gamlingay youth club Bowling Trip On the 6th of February

Gamlingay youth club went to Stevenage Hollywood Bowl. A lot of organisation went into preparing the trip for 14 teenagers and 5 youth workers. We had to organise for the consent slips, mini bus, booking the lanes, working out how much it cost and much more. We met at about 5:50pm outside the youth club and waited for the mini bus. On our way there we had a good laugh. When we arrived we had a quick bite to eat and then walked over to the Hollywood bowl where we split into groups and played two games of bowling. After the games we had a quick play at the arcade on the dancemats and simulator. Then we all met together outside and made our way back. We got back into Gamlingay at 9:30pm then we all went home. We all enjoyed it very much and thought it was really good. It was good that the youth club could organise the trip because it was really fun. We would all like to go on further trips because we had such a jolly good time.
