Over the past weeks, the women folk at Gamlingay Baptist Church have been busy planning a Celebration in Flowers. Much thought and prayer has gone into this event. We wanted it to be a celebration on a theme and the theme chosen was the ‘I am’ sayings of Jesus.

The last week in October was a very busy one for both the women and men in the church; getting the various floral displays ready and decorating the pillars, the balcony, and behind the pulpit, with flowers. But all the hard work paid off. On the weekend of the 28th-30th of October the display was open to the public. The more than 100 visitors were impressed with the display and appreciated the work that had gone into it. Entrance was free, including the refreshments.

All this was part of our 335th Church Anniversary. On Sunday the Revd Roy Freestone, MA, led the morning service and in the evening we had a Songs of Praise. It was a great weekend and we were encouraged by the number of people who attended the Celebration in Flowers and those who came to both services on Sunday.

Biggles To Return

Your local radio station BigglesFM is tuning up ready for its Christmas broadcast.

Starting on Sunday 27th November and running right up to Christmas this will be the 6th and longest broadcast to date. Team Organiser Alan Waring tells us 'Everyone is looking forward to getting back on the air.’

We've all been busy finding music, new and old, to play. We'll be running competitions, phone-ins, dedications, news and announcements '

BigglesFM can be heard on 87.9FM plus the internet at www.bigglesfm.com. A new feature this year will be the 'Top Five'. Simply pick your 5 favourite songs - fill in the form on the Biggles website or phone the studio on 01767 260111.

You will then be contacted to let you know when your Top 5 will be played. All the entries will go into the BigglesFM hat and 5 lucky people will win a prize.
