What do you think of the Gazette?

We are speaking for the young people of Gamlingay who enjoy using skateboards, in-line skates and BMX bikes. We are becoming more and more frustrated at the lack of somewhere to practise our sport.
We have a few spots around the village where we like to skate, but it's only a matter of time before we get moved on. Some people are really nasty to us, and one man even drove his car towards us. We don't want to be a nuisance to anyone!
But where can we go?
Nowadays, we are told that, as a generation, we are "obese couch potatoes". So, any sport that provides us with fresh air and exercise, can be joined in by everyone who wants to, is not dangerous, and is not a danger to anyone else should be encouraged.
Some of the Gamlingay skaters made a brilliant video, which showed that a person wearing a gorilla suit in 32 degrees of summer sun running round the village and acting strangely was treated better than a young person riding on a skateboard.
There is an answer!
We desperately need a skatepark where we can enjoy using our skateboards without the risk of annoying anyone. It would be well used and very much appreciated by those of us who don't want to spend all our lives in front of the telly, on mindless computer games, or sliding down the slippery slope towards a life of crime.
A petition has been compiled to show support for a skatepark for Gamlingay and district. It now has 500 signatures. If you would like to add your name to it, this can be done at Gostlings newsagents or The Cock Inn.
We are doing a demo at the First School's May Fayre (see below), to show that we are committed to raising money towards our own skatepark. We will be offering lessons to beginners. We hope to see you there!
